The Problem
Kosma Engineers identified data and security architectural weaknesses in a mid-size law firm’s digital records, client management systems, and ERP systems in a thorough assessment. This is an established and well reputed law firm with a central office and multiple remote branches throughout the US.
We found several issues in records management, ERP, and client management systems architecture that could lead to irrecoverable data loss and damaging security incidents.
The Solution
We documented our findings and presented a risk management strategy. Our team highlighted challenges and priorities of current systems and migration plans for upgraded, secure, and reliable systems.
We established clear timelines for remediation and migration plans with all departments in our client’s organization, keeping in mind that business operations relied heavily upon these systems for day-to-day tasks. Within our remediation plans, we accounted for important requirements and proceeded to create a parallel environment in private Cloud with updated & security hardened systems for day-to-day data updates. This allowed everyone to test and train on the new updated systems. All systems were well tested with all departments for clear organizational role based access, data integrity, and scalability.
We also implemented enterprise grade security systems that are customized and tuned to our client’s business operations. These systems continuously monitor, audit, and report anomalies to our Security Operations Center (SOC).
Migrating to the new systems was a smooth transition for all departments. The new systems’ architecture ensure business continuity, well-defined security incident response plan, and a disaster recovery plan.
