01 · Challenge

What needed to change

Critical HR, finance, inventory, and mobile applications ran on a monolithic LAMP+ stack across multiple data centers. The migration needed to preserve service continuity while giving each business function room to scale and change independently.

02 · Approach

How the work was delivered

The environment was refactored into modular services on AWS EKS. Argo CD provided a repeatable deployment process. A parallel run validated the new environment under production load before the legacy systems were retired, with rollback preserved through the cutover.

03 · Results

What changed

  • Zero-downtime cutover to the new environment.
  • 99.95% sustained uptime after migration.
  • Business services could scale, deploy, and recover independently.

What this means for your operation

For a manufacturer, the relevant lesson is how to modernize connected business systems while planning for continuity, validation, and recovery. The scope and migration sequence must reflect the systems your operation depends on.

Engineering detail

The original environment included multiple databases, message queues, and search platforms. Kubernetes services separated the business functions, while GitOps with Argo CD made version-controlled changes the path to production. The source environment represented $5–6M in capital infrastructure; the resulting cloud spend was approximately $300K per year. These are different cost bases, not a measure of annual savings.
